The Colonnade Hotel 2007 London U.K.

AA Design were appointed for the refurbishment of this historic 5 star hotel in Little Venice, London. The refurbishment encompassed the main reception, reception lobby, public areas, guest rooms and the Ebar restaurant.

A big challenge of the project was working within the constraints of a listed building, ensuring the hotel's heritage was preserved, protected and enhanced while giving it an exciting new look.

Due to the boutique nature of the hotel, every room required a unique design solution. Schemes for each area were created to celebrate the unique features of the space.

The refurbishment of the JFK suite involved re-upholstering the four-poster bed that was commissioned for John F. Kennedy’s visit to the U.K. in 1963. The interior design of this suite celebrates the president’s love of sailing and the sea. Attention to detail is evident in original items sourced in connection with the president’s life.

All work was carried out while the hotel remained in operation, with minimal disruption to eliminate loss of revenue.

The client was very pleased with the design solutions and the renewed look of the hotel.
